So far, about every 10 years, I seem to change something.

This year's album is called DEMONYM, and it consists primarily of solo piano improvisations, with two cover songs (also recorded on the piano) as bookends.

"African and White" is a cover song featuring a piano and improvisational elements, but it is not from the album. This version of the 40-year-old, dreamlike and political China Crisis single was intended for my album END VOGUE (which will be 10 this July), and was in fact the product of the very first session at the Crystal Palace in Santa Cruz, with my collaborator on that album and subsequent others, Drew Thomas.

It didn't fit on END VOGUE, but I was always proud of the result. This mix was actually the only one printed, appropriately tagged as "rough" but, I think, deftly and expertly executed by Drew nonetheless. I created an ending here in Los Angeles. I hope you enjoy the recording.
